Anatomist and artist Emily Evans returns to the Morbid Anatomy Museum to celebrate the release of her new book “Anatomy in Black”; the ultimate anatomy coffee table book. Emily is a trained anatomist and is a senior demonstrator of anatomy at Cambridge University, UK. Alongside teaching anatomy, she has run her own medical illustration business in London for the last 12 years illustrating mostly anatomy and surgery books.

Just over 2 years ago, Emily launched the brand Anatomy Boutique with an intention to frame anatomy in an accessible way through a range of design-led products that emphasize the beauty of anatomy.

This Autumn sees the launch of Emily’s new book; Anatomy in Black, a sophisticated coffee table book for anatomy lovers. It illustrates the beauty of human anatomy reflected in a contemporary hardback book, created entirely in black and gold. This book is a perfect companion for those interested in anatomy, regardless of their previous knowledge of the subject matter. Emily will give a brief talk on her vision to create a new aesthetic for representing anatomy and encouraging audiences to engage with anatomy in a new, exciting way. Copies of the book “Anatomy in Black” will be available for sale and signing.
