Illustrated lecture with Scholar in Residence Karen Bachmann.
Date: Monday, November 24th
Time: 8pm
Admission: $8 ( Tickets Here )
Location: Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 Third Avenue, 11215 Brooklyn.

Tonight’s talk will explore the hot topic of spontaneous human combustion. Find out how and if this can happen to you and see images of those who have been purified by fire (and left a few remnants to show for it).

Professor Karen Bachmann, who has a long-standing interest in Spontaneous Human Combustion, and who has written on the subject of human body part relics, will sift through these remains during this heavily illustrated lecture.

Karen Bachman is November’s Morbid Anatomy Museum Scholar in Residence. She is a fine jeweler with over 25 years experience, including several years on staff as a master jeweler at Tiffany & Co. She is a Professor in the Jewelry Design Dept at Fashion Institute of Technology as well as the School of Art & Design at Pratt Institute. She has recently completed her MA in Art History at SUNY Purchase with a thesis entitled Hairy Secrets:… In her downtime she enjoys collecting biological specimens, amateur taxidermy and punk rock.
