Introduction to Dr. Krippner by special guest Lisette Coly, President of the Parapsychological Foundation and granddaughter of Eileen Garrett

In this presentation, Dr. Stanley Krippner will discuss his long history of investigating the spooks that are reported to be especially active at Halloween. It all started with the investigation of a haunted house in Iowa in the 1960′s that received national publicity, continued with visits to mediums in Brazil whose sexual preferences had never before been investigated, and continues with the ‘spirits’ associated with JZ Knight, John of God, and other controversial luminaries. The most convincing incidents centered around Eileen Garrett the best known American medium of the 20th century.

Dr. Stanley Krippner, PhD, professor of psychology at Saybrook University in San Francisco, California, is a Fellow in four APA divisions, and past-president of two divisions (30 & 32). Formerly, he was director of the the Maimonides Medical Center Dream Research Laboratory, in Brooklyn, NY. He is co-author of Extraordinary Dreams (SUNY, 2002), The Mythic Path, 3rd ed. (Energy Psychology Press, 2006), and Haunted by Combat: Understanding PTSD in War Veterans (Greenwood, 2007), and co-editor of The Psychological Impact of War on Civilians: An International Perspective (Greenwood, 2003), Varieties of Anomalous Experience: Examining the Scientific Evidence (APA, 2000), and many other books.
