A two-faced kitten! A taxidermy squirrel bar! An exploded human skeleton! These are just a few of the rarely seen oddities that will be exhibited and discussed as Morbid Anatomy Museum comes alive with a fascinating preview of long dead things included in MAM’s second exhibition: The Collector’s Cabinet. Join us tonight as Joanna Ebenstein - Morbid Anatomy Museum Creative Director and co-author of “Walther Potter’s Curious World of Taxidermy” - introduces us to a remarkable two-faced kitten prepared by the famously eccentric 19th century taxidermist Walter Potter (from the collection of Carol Holzner, never before exhibited in the U.S). Evan Michelson (of Obscura Antiques and TV’s “Oddities”) will share the surprising and inspiring tale of Georges’s prosthetic arms. Morbid Anatomy Museum Board Chair Tracy Hurley Martin will treat us to a rare display of the phenomenal 18th century 5-volume set of the “Physica Sacra” - an important and lavish text that links natural history, philosophy and mysticism. Mike Zohn (of Obscura Antiques and TV’s “Oddities”) will share the strange history of the anthropomorphic squirrel bar scene, once on view at the Cress Funeral Home. Ryan Cohn (also of TV’s “Oddities”) will demonstrate the inner workings of his very own exploded (or Beauchene) human skeletal preparation. Filmmaker-in-residence Ronni Thomas will share his collection of 19th century stereoscopic Diableries and David Wolin of Invisible Gallery will unpack his Oddfellows suitcase, and more!

There will also be wine and cheese, music by DJ in residence Friese Undine, and a slideshow of photos by Joanna Ebenstein of extraordinary private collections from around the world!
