Sacred Immaculate Heart Tin with Sword Hoja de Plata

Sacred Immaculate Heart Tin with Sword Hoja de Plata

$13.00

The Sacred Immaculate Heart Milagros (miracle) of Mary, represents a burning love, maternal protection, and commitment to God and Jesus. The sword is a reminder of the sorrows and the suffering silence Mary endured as a mother.

Where traditionally flames shoot out of the Sacred Heart representing the burning love for God both Jesus and Mary share, three roses in full bloom grow from the top of this Milagros accompanied by their verdant leaves. The stem of Lilies that Mary is often seen holding in devotional images signify purity and is worked into the surface.

This handmade traditional type of tin work—or “Hoja de Plata”—is a folk art that has been made for centuries in Mexico, especially in Oaxaca.

Made to hang on a wall.
